Hello to all. I'd like to wrap 2011 up by saying thanks once again for all the support we at Jamhouse have been shown, especially in the latter half of the year. In the last twelve months we've produced music and sound design for a range of products and brands including Pauls, Brumby's, Queensland Transport, The Maroochy RSL Club, Choice Hotels, Deep Blue Orchestra, University of Queensland, Black & White Cabs, Work Force Solutions, Travel Radar, Image Blinds, Australia Zoo, Carpet One, Budget Direct (yep, the "Boojay" track), and Gold Lotto!
We've done TVCs and AVs and have worked on a corporate show, and I'm currently negotiating a licence for the use of four of our tracks in a new venture being trialled next year. In January, one of our artists, Jen Mize, will start tracking for her new album, which I'll be producing, and I'm also currently producing for a jazz artist named Lauren Lucille - watch out for both of those.
Most pleasing for me though, is that quite a few of the Jamhouse writers have been submitting demos throughout the year, and some have work on air now. Of course, whether a writer can submit for a job will depend on the style of music required, so not all have been able to contribute, but the way things are going, I feel sure that everyone will get some runs on the board in the New Year.
Just for a quick rundown, this year Anthony (Ack) has been the busiest and has a couple of TVC and radio tracks and an AV under his belt, as well as a demo in the pipeline. Carl has an AV or two out there, and Stephan, Jen, and Tom have all had a hand in things as well. It's Tom's voice on the Here for Life TVC and Jen's in the Carpet One tag. Oh, and it turns out that Tom is also a pretty handy whistler, so you should hear a bit of that in the new year with a bit of luck!
There's also a short film in the works for which Liana has done all the foley, and Lauren and Jen have both done Saturday Night Live-ish at the Coorparoo Bowls Club - a very special experience!
By the way, for those that haven't been fortunate to have a Jamhouse presentation yet, Jen, Lauren and Tom sound awesome in 3-part harmony, and they do a bit of that in those presentations. It's a great way to wind the week down on a Friday arvo, so if you'd like to know more, just get in touch.
That's about it for now, so again thanks for giving Jamhouse a go this year. All the best for Christmas and I hope the new year brings good things to all.
Cheers,
Garry Smith
